The type initializer for 'Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.Design.SharedIcons' threw an exception.

I get this exception when I try to open an existing or create a new SSIS Project (from SQL Server Data Tools for VS 2012 June 2013).

I installed the hotfixes as mentioned here:

That did not change anything.

Everything worked perfectly until this started happening two days ago.
