Well, I have a slightly different situation for license transfer that all the posts I've seen. I have a client who has, in the past, outsourced their db servers. The SQL server was installed under a license "owned" by the hosting company. Now, the hosting company wants their license back. The client has a license to use, but I don't know how to "transfer" the newly purchased license to this existing SQL Server installation. We are not decommissioning the server; it's staying put. What are my options? And, I really don't consider rebuilding the DB server instance an option.
