Hi all,
I need some suggestion or confirmation. I'm working on a clone of the production SQL server, I'm trying to perform an upgrade from SQL2008R2 SP2 x64 to SQL 2012, the SQL 2012 software that I downloaded from MS website as evaluation copy.
It went through all the checks ok except when it is up to the "Upgrade Rule" stage, one item failed. it says "SQL Server 2012 Feature Upgrade" Failed, I'm sure that I'm not adding/removing any features as when at the "Select Features" step, all items are greyed-out, whatever items show on the screen are pre-checked and I can't remove. When I checked the detailed report, it says "the specified edition upgrade is not supported. For information about supported upgrade paths, see the SQL Server 2012 version and edition upgrade in Book Online."
I went onto http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143393.aspx, my existing version does seems to fully supported the upgrade, however I don't know what exactly stopping the process. Is it because I'm upgrading from SQL (open license) to evaluation version??
